NEW GARDEN TOWNSHIP
Keith Craig will be here to sign his new pictorial history NEW GARDEN TOWNSHIP at 1:00 pm. This book is part of the wonderful Images of America series put out by Arcadia Publishing. The book provides a visual record of vintage photographs accompanied by archival research and narratives from lifelong residents to intimately depict the township's transformations through the generations. Keith Craig is a composition and literature adjunct for both Delaware County Community College and Lincoln University, as well as working as a correspondent for the Chester County Press.

Join us for a eat fresh & local potluck and book signing with James Beard Award-winning food writer Rowan Jacobsen who will discuss his new book AMERICAN TERROIR: SAVORING THE FLAVORS OF OUR WOODS, WATERS AND FIELDS. What gives regional foods their distinctive taste? Terroir - the "taste of place," how local conditions such as soil and climate affect the flavor of a particular food. Authors Jonathan Maberry, Chandra Hoffman, and Dennis Tafoya will participate in a panel of mystery writers to speak about their craft, discuss their work and sign books at 7:00 pm.Hoffman's debut novel CHOSEN takes readers on a roller coaster ride in the world of adoption agencies, birth mothers, and infertility revealing the hurdles and emotional challenges that can be part of the process. In Maberry's PATIENT ZERO, it is a race against time to stop a bunch of terrorists from releasing a dreadful bio-weapon that will turn people into zombies. At 7:00 pm writers featured in PROMPTED, a new collaboration between Philadelphia Stories and the Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio, will read from and discuss their work in this anthology. From internationally published author Julie Compton (Tell No Lies, Rescuing Olivia) to first-time poet Marsha Pincus, PROMPTED’s connective tissue lies in a deep love and respect for the craft of writing as it explores the human condition via poetry, personal essays, and fiction PROMPTED is edited by Greater Philadelphia Wordshop Studio Director Alison Hicks Featured authors who will include Kay Peters (poetry), Joyce Meyers (poetry), Jeanne Obbard (poetry), Rosalind Kaplan (non-fiction), and Deborah Derrickson Kossmann (non-fiction).

Tony DiTerlizzi, author of THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES and KENNY & THE DRAGON will be visiting the store to introduce his exciting new book THE SEARCH FOR WONDLA, at 11:00 am. TYLER'S HILL new young adult novel
Susan B. Katz will be at the store at 1:00 pm for a talk and signing of her first book TYLER'S HILL, a novel for young adults. One summer, four friends learn that their shared secrets and fears shape their friendships, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and new beginnings. When a housing development is built on a piece of land sacred to a group of adolescent girls, they soon learn to accept the things they cannot change and how to grow in spite of it. Inspired by true events, TYLER’S HILL explores with clarity and depth the joys, fears and desires of these girls in their coming of age through the pain of loss, the understanding of friendship and the cultivation of determined action, which they learn can change the course of their collective lives. A social worker, Susan B. Katz has been writing plays and children’s stories for the last 20 years. She lives in the greater Philadelphia region.

SUVS SUCK IN COMBAT: CHAOS AND VALOR
Join us to welcome home West Chester native Kerry Kachejian, author of SUVS SUCK IN COMBAT: CHAOS AND VALOR – THE REBUILDING OF IRAQ DURING A RAGING INSURGENCY. The book tells how a unique and severely understaffed military unit, lacking proper vehicles, security forces, and adequate communications gear, faced with undertaking the single largest US reconstruction project ever—rebuilding Iraq during a raging insurgency—was still able to “Git’r Done”. During his twenty-seven years as an Army Engineer officer, Kerry Kachejian served in and supported reconstruction operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The event will begin at 6:30 pm.

PUPPY MILL DOGS SPEAK!
Dog advocate, trainer and behavior consultant, Christine Palm Shaughness will be here to speak and sign her book PUPPY MILL DOGS SPEAK!: HAPPY STORIES AND HELPFUL ADVICE. In it she tells the inspirational stories of brave, resilient dogs formerly used as breeders in puppy mills. Shaughness shares practical information and tips for working with these abused animals. This event benefits the Chester County SPCA and will begin at 7:00 pm.

Scott Westerfield will be here to sign BEHEMOTH, the exciting sequel to LEVIATHAN, at 7:00 pm.
